Taoyuan Airport MRT to restrict station exits during drill
桃園機場捷運將於演習期間實施車站出口管制
| Taoyuan Airport MRT stations will temporarily restrict passengers from exiting during an air defense drill on Aug. 13, while trains will continue operating normally.
CNA reported that the restrictions will be in place from 2:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. as part of this year's urban resilience air defense exercise. After an air raid alert is issued, passengers arriving at stations will be directed to shelter areas and must remain there until the alert ends. Station staff, metro police, and security personnel will guide passengers during the exercise. Announcements will begin at stations and on trains 30 minutes before the drill to remind passengers about the restrictions. Taoyuan Metro said the exercise will also include slower mobile internet service. Its website, iTaoyuan Metro app, Taoyuan Metro Tickets app, mobile payment services, and QR-code ticket services could therefore be affected. Passengers are advised to carry a physical transit card or contactless credit card. They can also use cash to buy single-journey tickets if mobile or QR-code services are disrupted, per UDN. Parking lots connected to Airport MRT stations will allow vehicles to enter but not leave during the exercise. Taoyuan Metro advised travelers to arrive early to avoid delays. |
