Uber One membership prices in Taiwan to rise

| TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Uber One, which offers discounts on both rides and food delivery, will see subscription fees in Taiwan increase following benefit updates.
New prices will take effect on July 13. The annual membership plan will increase 65.83% from NT$1,200 (US$38) to NT$1,990, while the monthly plan will rise 59.16% from NT$120 to NT$199, according to CTEE. Student plans will also be adjusted. Monthly subscriptions will increase from NT$84 to NT$139, while annual subscriptions will rise from NT$840 to NT$1,393, both up 65.83%. Uber said the changes reflect expanded membership benefits. More personalized rewards will be provided, such as Uber One points and variable service fee discounts depending on each transaction. Under the updated structure, Uber One points rewards for ride-hailing services will be expanded from the previous maximum of 5%. Premium rides will earn up to 15% back in points. Standard rides and several other categories, including electric, comfort, pet-friendly and six-seat options, will earn 8% back. Uber Taxi will earn 3%. Also new courier services will be introduced, with eligible deliveries set to earn 8% back. Memberships will automatically renew at the new rates from the next billing date on or after July 13, unless canceled beforehand. Uber One points can be used to offset payments made on the Uber or Uber Eats app. One point is equivalent to NT$1 in credit. |
