Taiwan’s Syncmold targets satellite-led revenue growth
台灣信錦企業(Syncmold)瞄準低軌衛星驅動的收入成長
| TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — New Taipei-based Syncmold Enterprise aims to significantly increase revenue from its low-Earth-orbit satellite products this year by expanding its related product offerings, CNA reported.
The company reported a net profit of NT$497 million (US$16 million) last year, down 51.3% from 2024, mainly due to weaker PC replacement demand and the appreciation of the Taiwan dollar. However, its revenue in January reached NT$823 million, up 4.65% year-on-year, primarily driven by growth in its display business. Last year, the satellite business accounted for 7% of the company’s revenue. It expects related products to make up 30% of annual revenue this year. Company Chair Chen Chiu-Lang (陳秋郎) said Syncmold began supplying components for the low-Earth-orbit satellite sector three years ago. The company has since produced related components, including noise-reduction enclosures, antennas, and heat sinks for satellite receivers. Chen said Syncmold applies its precision stamping technology to manufacture heat sinks for satellite applications, with shipments expected to begin in the second half of this year. The company is targeting a threefold increase in satellite-related orders from US clients compared with last year. He added that growing demand for energy efficiency and heat dissipation in satellites is expected to drive orders for related components. Syncmold will shift its satellite-related production capacity to Southeast Asia and reduce output at its China facilities. The company’s two new plants in Thailand are scheduled to be completed by the end of this year and will begin operations next year. Syncmold has joined Samsung’s mobile display supply chain as a supplier of screen bearings, components that support and stabilize displays. Chen said that while weak demand in the PC sector could weigh on the company’s display revenue, the partnership with Samsung is expected to provide a significant boost. |
