Taoyuan Airport expects 1.95 million travelers over 3 long weekends
桃園機場預計三波連假旅客量將達195萬人次
TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport expects more than 1.95 million passengers during the upcoming three long holidays.
The three long weekends are Teacher’s Day from Sept. 26–30, Mid-Autumn Festival from Oct. 3–7, and National Day from Oct. 9–13, per UDN. Passenger volumes are projected at 630,000, 640,000, and 670,000, respectively, averaging 127,000–134,000 travelers and 726–730 flights per day. The airport said that during the first two travel periods, arrivals are anticipated to slightly exceed departures as many will return home for Mid-Autumn Festival gatherings. The longer holidays are also expected to stagger passenger flow and prevent overcrowding. Starting Oct. 1, foreign visitors must complete the online Taiwan Arrival Card up to three days before entry. The service is available in seven languages on the airport website and the National Immigration Agency portal. Passengers are advised to use early check-in at Taipei Main Station or New Taipei Industrial Park Station, self-service baggage drop, and e-Gate clearance. Peak inbound times are 5 a.m. and 3–5 p.m., while outbound peaks are 7–9 a.m. and 11 p.m. Public transportation is encouraged, with shuttle buses adjusting their schedules during the following periods: Sept. 27–29, Oct. 4–6, and Oct. 10–12. Kuo-Kuang buses to Taipei will add late-night services from 1–2 a.m. Ubus 1623 to Taichung will run every 15–30 minutes, while Ubus 1661 to Luodong will add two daily trips at 9:20 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Extra taxis will also be available at Terminal 1 Meeting Point 12 and Terminal 2 Meeting Point 26. The airport recommends arriving three hours before departure. |
