Taiwan's Lady Kelly blends flavor and feeling in Father’s Day dessert collection
台灣LADY KELLY推出父親節甜點系列,融合口感與情感
TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — In celebration of Father’s Day on Aug. 8, Taiwanese dessert brand Lady Kelly has unveiled a seasonal collection that blends flavor with emotion — a signature of the brand’s culinary philosophy.
Father’s Day in Taiwan is observed on Aug. 8 due to the date’s phonetic similarity to the word “father” in Mandarin. The holiday also carries historical significance, tracing back to a 1945 proposal to honor paternal contributions near the end of the Second Sino-Japanese War. To mark the occasion, Lady Kelly is offering a variety of desserts designed to evoke different expressions of fatherhood. Leading the collection is a coconut mocha cake, created to reflect quiet strength and thoughtful character. It features smooth coffee Bavarian cream encased in coconut mousse, layered over a chocolate dacquoise base, and topped with coconut praline and coconut fruit Chantilly for balanced texture and flavor. For a brighter option, the lemon tart delivers a crisp citrus punch made with fresh lemon juice and zest from crust to filling. Meanwhile, the brand’s popular mango series returns for summer, showcasing Irwin mangoes in a range of tarts, cakes, and rolls for a tropical twist. Another standout is the Shizuoka hojicha cheesecake, inspired by the quiet patience and unspoken love often associated with fatherhood. Made with roasted tea leaves from the foothills of Mount Fuji and rich Australian cream cheese, the cake is steamed at low temperature and aged for 12 hours to achieve a cloud-like texture. It is topped with hojicha cream and crushed nuts for a warm, composed finish. In addition to its seasonal lineup, Lady Kelly has opened a new outlet at Dream Plaza in Taipei’s Xinyi District. The location was selected for its convenient access and steady foot traffic — aligning with the brand’s mission to share happiness through dessert. |
