TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Ten flights have been affected by Pakistan’s closure of its airspace, resulting in cancellations and route changes, Taoyuan International Airport said Wednesday. India announced precision strikes targeting terrorist camps in Pakistan-controlled Kashmir on Wednesday, prompting Pakistan to close its airspace for 48 hours, per CNA. Taoyuan Airport reported that China Airlines had to implement technical landings in Bangkok on Tuesday for flights from Taipei to Frankfurt, Prague, Amsterdam, Rome, and London. Additionally, the Taipei-London flight scheduled for Wednesday was canceled. EVA Air faced similar disruptions. On Tuesday, flight BR62 from Vienna to Bangkok returned to Vienna, while BR95 from Taoyuan to Milan was diverted to Vienna for refueling before continuing to its destination, per Liberty Times. China Airlines said it has activated contingency plans to safeguard passengers and crew. EVA Air also announced route adjustments and fuel stops in Vienna and will continue to monitor developments closely. Taoyuan Airport advised travelers and those picking up passengers to closely monitor flight status and confirm details with airlines before departure. |
