Launched in Japan in 2019, line of over 25 products hits Taiwanese market
TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The FamilyMart company, headquartered in Tokyo, rolled out its own brand of clothing “Convenience Wear” at FamilyMart locations around Taiwan this past week. The clothing line, first launched in Japan in 2021, hit shelves overseas for the first time on Wednesday (Nov. 13) at 720 stores around Taiwan, reported ET Today. The clothing line currently features around 25 items including socks, underwear, scarves, and shirts. The products are designed by famed designer Ochiai Hiromichi (落合宏理), who has won numerous fashion awards and collaborated with top global brands. One of the most popular items from the FamilyMart Convenience Wear collection is the crew-length socks with racing strip design in the iconic FamilyMart colors. Breaking with standard practice for clothing typically sold in convenience stores, FamilyMart is promoting the brand as durable, high-quality items at an affordable price, rather than low-quality items bought simply for emergencies, per ET Today. The simple, modern designs are intended to appeal to both young and old customers, with colors and patterns for different personalities and tastes. The line also features thermal underwear, which FamilyMarts in Taiwan hopes will become popular over the coming winter months. If the local FamilyMart does not stock the items, Convenience Wear is also available on FamilyMart’s online shopping platform. After ordering the products online, they can be delivered to your nearest FamilyMart for pick up. |
