Taiwan tourism promotion campaign reaches London Underground
台灣觀光推廣活動登上倫敦地鐵
Next campaign to focus on London taxis and buses
TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – Travelers on the London Underground can win an airline ticket to Taiwan as part of a new promotional campaign, reports said Wednesday (Oct. 2). As part of the “Taiwan – Waves of Wonder” campaign, posters advertising the country have gone up at six of the busiest stations in the British capital’s mass rapid station system, per CNA. The colorful ads are visible from train platforms and escalators at Victoria, Tottenham Court Road, King’s Cross, Shepherd’s Bush, Paddington, and London Bridge stations until Oct. 20. The United Kingdom is Taiwan’s largest source of tourists in Europe, according to the Tourism Administration. Data for 2024 so far shows the number of visitors from the UK equaled the level from before the COVID-19 pandemic. The London Underground counted an average of 92 million passengers per month, but Taiwan tourism officials said the next campaign would focus on buses and taxis. |
