Taiwanese choirs shine at Slovak music festival

| Country's vocal talent takes stage in Bratislava
TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Three Taiwanese choirs on Monday (July 22) showcased the country’s musical talent at the International Music Festival I. in the Slovak Republic’s capital of Bratislava. The Pingtung Puzangalan Children’s Choir, the National Tsing Hua University Chorus, and the Tsing Yang Choir performed at the festival, per CNA. The festival aims to unite global musical talent and inspire artists, per Bratislava Music Agency. Taipei Representative Office, Bratislava (TROB) representative Lee Nan-yang (李南陽) attended the opening ceremony at the St. Martin's Cathedral to cheer on the choirs. Lee expressed his delight in seeing Taiwanese choirs on the world stage. The choirs not only demonstrated Taiwan’s excellence in music, but also served as vital bridges for cultural exchange, Lee said. They acted as cultural ambassadors with their voices, sharing the sounds of Taiwan to the Slovakian people. The nine-day festival, which runs through July 25, features 12 groups from Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, Slovakia, France, Italy, and Poland. The festival features a variety of musical events and competitions, with each country showcasing its traditional music and culture. |
